James Stanley’s first experience with the restoration industry began as an Allstate agent in the 60’s.
Although a brief career, he left with valuable experience from the insurance industry. Most importantly,
he learned what the homeowners` needs are from a restoration standpoint.
James had enjoyed success in sales for most of his life. His work ethics and warm smile had served him
well; customer service always being a strong point. His friends and family really questioned him when
he decided to trade in his sales career and purchase a small steam-cleaning business. However, he
decided it was more important to stop travelling and be closer to home for his daughters, who were
growing up quickly.
Stanley Restoration, L.L.C. (formerly Stanley Carpet Care, L.L.C.) was founded in 1981. During its humble
beginnings, James was a one-man show, operating his equipment from the back of a Pinto Station Wagon.
He specialized in cleaning carpets in residences and apartment complexes.

The company grew and a small metal warehouse located in Duncanville, Texas was
purchased to officially house Stanley Restoration and its new employees. The company
began to change its primary focus from carpet cleaning to water and fire damage restoration.
Over time two additional buildings were purchased to provide facilities for contents cleaning
and storage.
After graduating from TCU in 1991, with a degree in Business, Sherry, James’ daughter,
joined Stanley Restoration. She quickly took to the management aspects of the business
and became responsible for the day-to-day operations. Soon afterwards, her sister, Janet,
also joined the team. With a degree in Marketing from The University of Texas at Arlington,
she began to oversee the advertising and marketing aspects of the business. With his two
daughters providing integral support, James was able to focus on growing the company further.
Stanley Restoration, already an accomplished water and fire damage restoration company,
continued to grow. Two additional divisions, reconstruction and roofing, were formed to offer
Stanley’s customers even more services in their time of need. The company now provided
complete turn-key restoration services.
Currently, Stanley Restoration operates out of a newly-built, custom 10,000 sq. feet facility,
with future plans to expand those facilities. The company is well equipped with a fleet of vehicles,
state-of-the-art equipment, and a staff of 35+ employees to service our customers’ needs.
Our company and our employees still follow James' examples of work ethics and customer
